I notice this one on the possibles list. I've been up here a few times for various reasons, but the only time I've been up here purely to bag this peak has been as part of the "7 summits" challenge. It's just a flatish hump with no defining top to it. Covered in bush and no views at all, so I wouldn't recommend it as an official peak. You'd be much better off picking the nearby Taupiri peak. Although not as high, this is a rewarding peak with great views.

I remember going up here once, and encountering a very scary looking guy with a gun. probably just a hunter, but nevertheless, put us city types off a little!   we have vivid imaginations...   never did make it the summit anyway.
