options now even less.  there isnt even a guided walk from low down and costs a fortune.

i vote dump.  Shame cos it looks a stunning mountain

Yep. It's been about 25 years since I last climbed it, so another trip up there would be nice.
Not prepared to pay anywhere near that for the pleasure however, and certainly don't want to support this sort of activity - this is on private land after all.

Oh yes, I hadn't noticed they had removed the walk option.  That is REALLY disappointing.  At least before it could be walked, even if it was expensive.

I will remove it. I might write to them and express our disappointment.  What a shame.

An update.... Tarawera has been removed from list - I called the Tarawera managing director, and I've modifed the Tarawera page with a few reasons as to why: http://www.peakbagging.co.nz/index.php?title=Mt_Tarawera
